Sand Mandala

Posted on

The Sand Mandala is a Tibetan Buddhist  tradition involving the creation and destruction of mandalas made from colored sand. A sand mandala is ritualistically destroyed once it has been completed and its accompanying ceremonies and viewing are finished to symbolize the Buddhist doctrinal belief in the transitory nature of material life.

This years Tsering Art School Calendar has arrived.

It still features the wonderful quality Thangka paintings of which Tsering Art School is renown.  The Thangkas are from the Karma Gadri Tradition and are painted by the graduates of this well-known and well-respected Art School.

The Calendar this year comes in two forms, one for the desktop, and one for hanging on the wall.  All Thangka images are authentic according to the tradition and are very useful practice tools.

This is a unique and rare tradition of which Urgyen Gyalpo is a painter.  All funds go to supporting Dharma artists in training and the continuation of this great lineage.

To acquire one of these great calendars and to support this wonderful Thangka lineage please purchase one at either the Riwoche gift shop.

Price is very reasonable:

Desktop version (which is a little smaller) is $12.00

The larger wall version is $15.00

Thank you for your kind consideration
